My friend and I replaced his 1999 Corolla(E110, 8th gen)'s lower control/suspension arm. He slammed into a curb or something which warped his factory control arm causing the wheel to be angled to where it was rubbing inside the wheel well.

I had the same thing happen to my '03 Corolla (on the passenger side). I removed the old arm but can't get the new one on - the problem is the bushing (in your 1st pic, it's the piece that is at the top of the triangle of the control arm; the part through which one bolt comes up THROUGH the bushing) won't fit into the car's subframe. I've read that I have to lower the car's front suspension crossmember but I didn't see you doing that. so, HOW did you get the new part on?
ReplyDeleteWell, for those who are wondering, all you have to do is TURN the steering wheel all the way to the left (if you're working on the passenger side of your car) - that gives you enough room to work the control arm into its connection points.
Deletedo you turn the steering wheel all the way to the right if your working on the driver's side.
